Owen Khumalo

Chief Executive Officer
Owen is a founding director and the Chief Executive Officer of Weaver, responsible for providing strategic direction and leadership.

With over 24 years of experience in financial services, Owen has worked across investment marketing, employee benefits, and asset consulting.

His career spans roles at Escher Investments, mCubed Asset Management, NBC Holdings, and Acsis Limited (a member of the Old Mutual Group). He has also held leadership roles at Sasfin, JM Busha Investment Group, and Old Mutual Corporate Consultants.

He holds qualifications in banking (Institute of Bankers), marketing (IMM Graduate School of Marketing), and retirement funds management (UNISA).

Ngoni Gwatidzo, CFP®

Chief Investment Officer & Key Individual
Ngoni is a founding director and serves as Weaver’s Chief Investment Officer. He oversees the day-to-day operations of the investment division. With over 40 years of experience in investment management, Ngoni began his career in 1980 at Old Mutual Zimbabwe and later moved to South Africa, working with Fedsure Asset Managers and Women’s Investment Portfolio Asset Managers.

He directed the Investments Division at NBC Holdings, managing institutional portfolios worth over R20 billion. After a stint at Analytics Multi Manager, he founded Gatzo Independent Investment Advisers in 2006 before co-founding Weaver.

Ngoni holds a B.Sc. in Economics and an MBA from Wits Business School. He is also a Certified Financial Planner® (CFP).

Nomahlubi Simamane

Non-Executive Chairperson
Nomahlubi is a scientist-turned-brand strategist with a deep passion for business transformation. She holds a BSc Honours in Chemistry and Biology from the University of Botswana & Swaziland and has over 17 years of international marketing experience.

She is the founder of Zanusi Brand Solutions and has held senior roles at BLGK Bates, Unilever, and British American Tobacco. Today, she serves on several prominent boards including The Foschini Group, Oceana, Cashbuild, Hollard, SAPO, and Lenmed Health.

Recognised for her dynamic leadership and mentorship, Nomahlubi has lectured at Wits and the Vega School of Branding and was awarded Businesswoman of the Year by two separate institutions in 2009.

Potlako Gasennelwe

Non-Executive Director
Potlako holds a Master’s in Science in the Built Environment and Engineering from Wits and a Master’s in Arts (cum laude) from the American International University in London.

Her academic journey began with a Bachelor of Arts in Interior Architecture.

She blends a deep understanding of architecture, African art history, and commercial property development with strong business instincts. With a creative yet analytical mind, Potlako is deeply attuned to market trends and client needs.

She believes that true success lies in ongoing growth, not settling for past achievements.

Daniel Clifford

Non-Executive Director
Daniel began his career as an actuarial student at J A Carsons and Partners in 1992.

He later joined Jeremy Gallet and Associates as a Director in employee benefits consulting, and went on to serve as Managing Director of Multilect Administrators in 2011.

In 2015, he co-founded D and D the Cycle (Pty) Ltd, an independent section 13B administrator.

Daniel holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Financial Planning from the University of the Free State and brings decades of specialised experience in retirement fund administration and governance.

Tlhologelo Masehla

Head of Business Development
Tlhologelo (Tlholo) leads business development at Weaver, with a strong focus on expanding the firm’s retail footprint and deepening support for Independent Financial Advisors. She plays a key role in aligning Weaver’s discretionary fund management (DFM) capabilities with the long-term financial wellness goals of clients.

With over 7 years of experience in the financial services industry, Tlholo brings a unique blend of strategic perspective and technical expertise. Her background spans business development, wealth advisory, and corporate finance—grounded in a BCom Honours degree in Economics from North-West University.

Tlholo is passionate about growth, inclusion, and partnership, building strong relationships that help clients and advisors navigate complexity with confidence.

Lonwabo Biyana

Investment Analyst
Lonwabo is an Investment Analyst at Weaver, where he supports manager research, portfolio construction, and investment reporting. Since joining in 2022, he has played a key role in due diligence, performance monitoring, and risk oversight across Weaver’s model portfolios.

With a strong analytical foundation and a passion for market research, Lonwabo brings skill, tenacity, and precision to every aspect of his role.

Prior to Weaver, he interned at Montrose Asset Management and developed a keen interest in strategic asset allocation.

Lonwabo holds a BCom Honours degree in Investment Management and is currently pursuing the CFA designation.

AmandA Mzingi

Executive Assistant
Amanda was one of the first to join the Weaver team. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Rosebank College and brings experience from various sales roles across major companies.

She plays a key role in supporting the Weaver team, handling communications, coordinating logistics, and ensuring smooth operations.

Amanda is known for her proactive approach, warm personality, and ability to engage clients with professionalism and care.

She’s also our in-house fashion enthusiast—always dressed to impress!
